MADISON, Wis. - The Edgewood College Eagles used a 19-4 run in the second half to erase an eight-point halftime deficit and defeat Wisconsin Lutheran 60-56 on Saturday afternoon, handing the Warriors their eighth straight loss at the Todd Wehr Edgedome.

Despite four lead changes and three ties, WLC led throughout most of the first half, leading by as many as 10 points before carrying an eight-point lead (31-23) into the locker room at halftime. Junior forward Erika Laete (Spokane, Wash./Evergreen Lutheran) scored 13 of her game-high 18 points in the half for Wisconsin Lutheran, which shot 35.3 percent (12-for-34) from the floor in the half.

The Warriors, who held onto their lead for over the first eight minutes of the second half, were plagued by 14 turnovers in the second period, opposed to just seven for Edgewood. With the Warriors maintaining a 39-37 lead with 11:20 remaining, the Eagles surged on a 19-4 run to take a 56-43 lead with 5:43 left on the clock. Freshman guard Shavon Dillon (Milwaukee, Wis./Hope School) sparked an 11-0 WLC run by scoring nine points to cut the deficit back down to two points (56-54) with 1:25 left. However, the Warriors turned the ball over on consecutive possessions and were forced to foul as the Eagles sealed the win with free throws.

Laete recorded her second double-double of the season with game highs of 18 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Warriors. Dillon finished the game with 13 points, while senior Megan Sankey (Waupun, Wis./Winnebago Lutheran) added 11 points on a perfect 3-for-3 from three-point range.

WLC, which finished the game shooting 35.7 percent (20-for-56) from the floor, edged out the Eagles on the glass, 42-41. However, Edgewood out-scored the Warriors 17-6 in points off of turnovers.

The Eagles (5-8, 5-2 NAC), who shot 30.6 percent (19-for-62) for the game, were led by Emily Decorah who led three players in double figures with 16 points.

Wisconsin Lutheran (4-6, 4-1 NAC) returns to action on Tuesday when it hosts Aurora University in a 7 p.m. tip-off at the Recreation Complex. The game is the first of three next week for the Warriors.
