MILWAUKEE - Wisconsin Lutheran rolled to its
ninth-straight win Wednesday night, claiming a 3-0 sweep over the
Aurora University Spartans in a Northern Athletic s Conference
match at the Recreation Complex.
The Warriors (16-6, 7-2 NAC) defeated the Spartans (3-22, 0-8
NAC) by match scores of 25-17, 25-18 and 25-16 for their
ninth-straight victory. WLC last won nine consecutive matches
during the 2004 season when it also rattled of 10-straight
wins.
Jenna Neuberger (Muskego, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) paced
Wisconsin Lutheran with seven kills, while two other players,
Rachel Johnson (Milwaukee, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) and Erin
Greenfield (Wauwatosa, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) chipped in with six
each. Mariah Bukiewicz (Oak Creek, Wis./Oak Creek) passed out 14
assists and Kayla Ridgeman (Jefferson, Wis./Lakeside Lutheran)
collected a team-best nine digs. Senior Erika Laete (Spokane,
Wash./Evergreen Lutheran) added 6.5 of the team's 12 total
blocks.
The Warriors move outside of conference play this weekend when
they travel to Memphis, Tenn., for the Rhodes Fall Break Classic.
WLC will face Loras College (18-7) and host Rhodes College (9-13)
Saturday, prior to meeting Greensboro (19-5) and Bethel (14-8)
Sunday.
