Eagles' two scores enough to top Warriors

MILWAUKEE - Greg Dezell of Edgewood College scored a goal in each half to lead the visiting Eagles over Wisconsin Lutheran College 2-0 in a Northern Athletics Conference game Saturday afternoon at Warrior Field.

Wisconsin Lutheran and Edgewood competed for over 20 minutes to open the game before Dezell netted his first score of the contest at 22:39. EC's Andrew Aurit assisted on the goal. The match remained 1-0 in favor of the Eagles until the halfway point. The Warriors concluded the first half with six shots, compared to 10 for Edgewood. WLC senior goalkeeper Chris Lorig (Crete, Ill./Illinois Lutheran) collected five saves in the period.

Dezell gave Edgewood a 2-0 lead in the 56th minute of the second half when he found the back of the net unassisted. Dezell attempted 10 of the Eagles' (6-9, 4-5 NAC) 20 shots for the game. WLC finished with seven second-half shots, while Edgewood had 10.

Senior Cameron Teske (Crete, Ill./Illinois Lutheran) was credited for four of the Warriors' 13 shots in the contest. Lorig amassed 12 saves in 90 minutes in the net.

Goalie Robert Huss compiled six saves for the Eagles.

Wisconsin Lutheran (3-13-1, 2-6 NAC) travels to Aurora University (9-6-1, 7-1 NAC) Wednesday afternoon for a 2 p.m. match with the Spartans at Vago Field.
