RIVER FOREST, Ill. - Wisconsin Lutheran College
received significant contributions from each of its three seniors
Tuesday afternoon as the Warriors defeated Concordia University
Chicago 1-0 through extremely windy conditions at Concordia
Stadium.
Senior Cameron Teske (Crete, Ill./Illinois Lutheran) found the
back of the net for the seventh time this season off of header from
fellow senior Jake Parnau (Milwaukee, Wis./Greendale) for the only
score of the contest. Teske scored off of the corner kick just 1:20
into the second half after both teams played through a scoreless
first frame. WLC out-shot CUC 5-4 in the first period, but was
narrowly edged 10-9 for the game.
Senior goalkeeper Chris Lorig (Crete, Ill./Illinois Lutheran)
made seven saves while facing 10 shots in his final game for the
Warriors. Teske led the Warriors with three shots and a goal.
Sophomore Florin Maduta (Waterford, Wis./Waterford) and junior
James Sather (Milwaukee, Wis./Nathan Hale) added two shots apiece
for WLC, while freshman Andre Kaul (West Allis, Wis./Nathan Hale)
and junior Trevor Schwartz (Lake Geneva, Wis./Shoreland Lutheran)
added one shot each.
Bart Loos made four saves for the Cougars (2-13-4, 0-8-3 NAC),
while Chayanne Martinez led the team with three shots, including
two on goal.
Wisconsin Lutheran concludes its 2010 season with a 4-15-1
overall record and 3-8 in the Northern Athletics Conference.
