FOND DU LAC, Wis. - The Wisconsin Lutheran
College volleyball team collected its sixth-straight win Tuesday
evening, defeating the Marian University Sabres 3-1 in a Northern
Athletics Conference matchup at the Sadoff Gymnasium.
The Warriors, who saw their impressive 16 consecutive set
winning streak dating back to September 25 come to an end, defeated
the host Sabres 26-24, 19-25, 26-24 and 25-20.
Junior Rachel Johnson (Milwaukee, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran)
continued to be a force at the net for WLC as she racked up a
match-high 17 kills. Freshman Mariah Bukiewicz (Oak Creek, Wis./Oak
Creek) and sophomore Steph Cox (Sheboygan, Wis./Lutheran) passed
out 28 and 12 assists, respectively. Freshman Kayla Ridgeman
(Jefferson, Wis./Lakeside Lutheran) led four players in
double-digit digs with 19. Jenna Neuberger (Muskego, Wis./Wisconsin
Lutheran), Brittanny Bahr (Caledonia, Wis./Shoreland Lutheran) and
Erin Greenfield (Wauwatosa, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) contributed
with 14, 11 and 10 digs each.
Carlie Kinsey (12 kills/10 digs) and Erika Heberer (12 kills/14
digs) posted a pair of double-doubles for Marian (6-16, 2-3
NAC).
The Warriors (13-6, 4-2 NAC) close out their three-game
conference road trip Friday with a cross-town showdown at MSOE
(9-13, 3-3 NAC). Match time is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Kern
Center.
