MILWAUKEE - The Wisconsin Lutheran College
volleyball team collected its seventh-straight win Friday evening,
topping the MSOE Raiders 3-1 in a Northern Athletics Conference
matchup at the Kern Center.
In a streak that began with a non-conference win over the
Raiders September 25, the Warriors defeated MSOE 3-1 by match
scores of 25-23, 25-18, 20-25 and 25-20. Wisconsin Lutheran trailed
22-17 in the first set, but rallied for the come-from-behind
win.
Junior Rachel Johnson (Milwaukee, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) again
paced the Warriors with a match-high 11 kills and six block
assists. Freshman Mariah Bukiewicz (Oak Creek, Wis./Oak Creek) and
junior Leanna Miller (Muskego, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) passed out
25 and 17 assists, respectively. Miller had a double-double in the
match by adding 10 digs. Freshman Kayla Ridgeman (Jefferson,
Wis./Lakeside Lutheran) led three players in double-digit digs with
21.
Junior Jenna Neuberger (Muskego, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) also
posted a double-double with 10 kills and 15 digs, while sophomore
Steph Cox (Sheboygan, Wis./Lutheran) also reached 10 kills.
Three players tallied double-doubles for MSOE, Hayley McEnerney
(14 digs/ 33 assists), Kathleen Collingbourne (17 kills/23 digs)
and Stephanie Hasler (17 kills/19 digs). The Raiders (9-14, 3-4
NAC), however, committed a costly 35 hitting errors.
Wisconsin Lutheran (14-6, 5-2 NAC) will have a short night of
rest, returning to the Recreation Complex Saturday morning to host
Alverno College (1-16, 0-7 NAC) in an 11 a.m. NAC match.
