WLC falls 8-1 to two-time defending NAC champion Edgewood

MADISON, Wis. - The Wisconsin Lutheran College women's tennis team was defeated 8-1 by two-time defending Northern Athletics Conference champion Edgewood College on Saturday afternoon in a conference dual clash at Rennebohm Park.

Sophomore Kathryn Hendee (Rockton, Ill./Hononegah) collected Wisconsin Lutheran's only win of the match at No. 1 singles. Hendee defeated Hannah Pincsak, 6-4, 6-2, to move to 4-1 on the year in conference play. Freshman Emily Pearson (Prairie du Sac, Wis./Luther Preparatory) fell in a close 6-4, 7-5 decision to Shae Beckwith at No. 3 singles.

Beckwith and Hemp edged out Hendee and freshman Lindsay Gauger (Rockford, Mich./Rockford) in No. 1 doubles action, 8-4.

The Warriors (4-5, 3-2 NAC) begin another busy four-match week on Monday when they face Lake Forest College in non-conference action at 4 p.m. in Lake Forest, Ill.
