Warriors fall to Falcons, 7-2, in season's final home match

NEW BERLIN, Wis. - The Wisconsin Lutheran College women's tennis team fell 7-2 to Northern Athletics Conference rival Concordia University Wisconsin Tuesday in its final home dual match of the season at the Princeton Club.

Concordia Wisconsin (10-3, 10-1 NAC) claimed wins over the Warriors at No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3 singles, before sophomore Elise Henrich (Milwaukee, Wis./Luther Preparatory) picked up WLC's first victory of the afternoon. Henrich defeated CUW's Elina Maki 6-4, 6-2 at No. 4 singles. The visiting Falcons closed out singles play by taking both matches at No. 5 and No. 6.

In doubles action, Henrich and freshman Emily Pearson (Prairie du Sac, Wis./Luther Preparatory) partnered at No. 2 to win 8-4 over Maki and Jaclyn Ward. The Warriors dropped the remaining No. 1 and No. 3 doubles matches, 8-0 and 8-4, respectively.

Wisconsin Lutheran (5-11, 4-6 NAC) plays its final dual match of the 2010 season Thursday against Aurora University at Washington Middle School in Aurora, Ill. The contest will resume at 7 p.m. with the score tied 2-2 after it was suspended due to rainfall last Saturday.
