MILWAUKEE - The Wisconsin Lutheran College
volleyball team won its fourth-straight match Tuesday night by
sweeping the Rockford College Regents 3-0 in a Northern Athletics
Conference contest at the Recreation Complex.
The Warriors (11-6, 2-2 NAC) won their fourth-straight match by
sweeping the Regents in three sets by scores of 25-17, 29-27 and
25-17. Eight of WLC's 11 victories have come via a 3-0 margin.
Senior Erika Laete (Spokane, Wash./Evergreen Lutheran) paced WLC
with a match-high 11 kills. She was the only player between both
teams to reach double-digit kills on the night. Freshman Mariah
Bukiewicz (Oak Creek, Wis./Oak Creek) totaled 17 assists, a match
high, while junior Leanna Miller (Muskego, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran)
added 10. Bukiewicz also tallied 10 digs for a double-double.
Freshman Kayla Ridgeman (Jefferson, Wis./Lakeside Lutheran) led
all players in digs with 18. WLC finished the match with just a
.189 hitting percentage, but held Rockford to an even lower .125
attack percentage.
Courtney Pehl had 20 assists and 10 digs to lead the Regents
(1-10, 0-3 NAC). Nicole Lawler collected a team-best eight
kills.
Wisconsin Lutheran searches for its fifth-straight win when it
travels to Watertown, Wis., Friday, October 1 for a 6 p.m. NAC
matchup against the Crusaders of Maranatha Baptist Bible College
(6-7, 0-2 NAC).
