Warriors fall to Carthage in non-conference action

KENOSHA, Wis. - The Wisconsin Lutheran College women's tennis team fell to the Carthage College Lady Reds 9-0 on Tuesday in a non-conference dual match at the Smeds Tennis Center.

Carthage (2-0, 0-0 CCIW) claimed all nine flights from Wisconsin Lutheran, but not before visiting WLC threatened to take two of the three doubles matches. Freshman Emily Pearson (Prairie du Sac, Wis./Luther Preparatory) and sophomore Taylor King (Wauwatosa, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran), teaming at No. 2 doubles, came up short by a 8-5 score to Holly Weber and Kaitlyn Farrell. At No. 3 doubles, Carthage's Sarah Sodemann and Brittney Helbig also edged Erin Mathiak (Slinger, Wis./Kettle Moraine Lutheran) and Tiffani Rohan (Bear Creek, Wis./Clintonville), 8-5.

Wisconsin Lutheran (2-4, 1-1 NAC) resumes Northern Athletics Conference play on Wednesday when it hosts Lakeland College (0-2, 0-0 NAC) at 4 p.m. at the Princeton Club.
