AURORA, Ill. - The Wisconsin Lutheran College
volleyball team won its fourth straight Northern Athletics
Conference match on Tuesday night after they defeated Aurora
University 3-1 at Thornton Gymnasium.
The Warriors took the first two sets 25-16 and 25-22 before the
Spartans (5-16, 2-4 NAC) won set three, 25-21. WLC responded with a
25-22 fourth set win to take the match on the road.
Erin Greenfield (Wauwatosa, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) and Mariah
Bukiewicz (Oak Creek, Wis./Oak Creek) each recorded double-doubles
for the Warriors in the win. Greenfield had 10 kills and 10 digs,
while Bukiewicz led the Warriors with 14 digs and 13 assists.
Rachel Johnson (Milwaukee, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) also
finished with double-digit kills for the forest green and white as
she tallied 10 and led the team with a .333 hitting percentage.
Two other Warriors joined Bukiewicz and Greenfield in
double-digit dig totals as Brittanny Bahr (Caledonia,
Wis./Shoreland Lutheran) and Kayla Ridgeman (Jefferson,
Wis./Lakeside Lutheran) recorded 12 and 11, respectively.
The Warriors played strong defense throughout the match,
recording 10 blocks and 70 digs. Kelli Johnson (Milwaukee,
Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) led the team with four block assists.
Cami Alexander had 12 digs and 11 kills to pace the host
Spartans.
Wisconsin Lutheran (11-9, 4-2 NAC) looks for its fifth straight
NAC win on Friday when it hosts Milwaukee School of Engineering
(7-13, 1-4 NAC). Match time at the Recreation Complex is set for 7
p.m.
