MILWAUKEE - The Wisconsin Lutheran College
volleyball team won its fifth straight Northern Athletics
Conference match with a 3-0 victory over MSOE Friday night at the
Recreation Complex.
The Warriors downed the Raiders (7-14, 1-5 NAC) 25-17 and 25-21
in the first two sets and then clinched the match with a 25-19
third set win.
Erin Greenfield (Wauwatosa, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) and Rachel
Johnson (Milwaukee, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) led the WLC charge
finishing with 11 and 10 kills, respectively. Johnson had a .333
hitting percentage to lead the Warriors offense.
Kayla Ridgeman (Jefferson Wis./Lakeside Lutheran) paced the
forest green and white defensively, finishing with 16 digs.
Greenfield added 14 digs, while Beth Baxter (Germantown,
Wis./Germantown) finished with a double-double, recording 11 digs
and dishing out 10 assists. Mariah Bukiewicz (Oak Creek, Wis./Oak
Creek) tallied 12 assists and also recorded three service aces for
the Warriors.
For the match, WLC finished with 65 digs, while also posting a
.162 hitting percentage, hammering down 33 kills on the
evening.
The Warriors (12-9, 5-2 NAC) will look for their sixth
consecutive NAC win tomorrow when the play the first of seven
straight road matches at Alverno College (3-19, 0-7 NAC). The match
is set to begin at 11 a.m. at Reiman Gymnasium.
