MILWAUKEE - The Wisconsin Lutheran College men's soccer team won its second straight game with a 1-0 shutout victory over Maranatha Baptist Bible College on Saturday afternoon at Warrior Field.

It was the foot of junior Florin Maduta (Waterford, Wis./Waterford) that sent WLC to the victory over the Crusaders (4-7, 1-5 NAC) as he scored the game's lone goal at the 22:57 mark of the first half to give the Warriors the 1-0 lead.

Wisconsin Lutheran out-shot the Crusaders 10-7 in the opening half as sophomore goalkeeper Kevin Ulwelling (Libertyville, Ill./Shoreland Lutheran) stopped five shots in the first 45 minutes of play.

The second half would see no scoring as Maranatha held a 9-5 edge in shots after halftime. Ulwelling completed the shutout as he recorded three more saves to give the Warriors the 1-0 victory.

Senior Trevor Schwartz (Lake Geneva, Wis./Shoreland Lutheran) tallied four shots for the forest green and white, while Maranatha's Drew Delozier tied Schwartz with a game-high four shots as well. MBBC's keeper Mark McIntyre made three saves in the loss for the Crusaders.

The Warriors (5-6, 2-4 NAC) search for their third straight win tomorrow afternoon when they host Eureka College (2-7) in a non-conference match. Game time at Warrior field is set for 2 p.m.
