SHEBOYGAN, Wis. - The Wisconsin Lutheran College women's basketball team moved to 3-0 in the Northern Athletics Conference with a 73-62 road win over Lakeland Tuesday night at the Moose and Dona Woltzen Gymnasium.

The Warriors and Muskies (2-3, 1-2 NAC) played a fairly even opening seven-plus minutes as WLC led 16-14 with 12:45 to play in the first half. Wisconsin Lutheran then went on a 14-6 run to take a first-half best 10-point lead with 5:41 left before halftime. After that 10 point advantage, the two teams again went back-and-forth as the Warriors took a 35-27 advantage into the locker room.

Alyssa Allister (Lake Mills, Wis./Lakeside Lutheran) continued her impressive shooting from behind the arc as she made three shots from deep in the opening half to pace the Warriors attack. Wisconsin Lutheran also used offensive rebounding to its advantage in the first half, out-scoring the Muskies 12-4 in second-chance points.

There was no more back-and-forth action to begin the second half as WLC came out of the break on a 12-2 run to take a game-high 18-point lead with 16 minutes left in the contest. Allister started the run with another three-point shot, while Rachel Johnson (Milwaukee, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) tallied four points and Krissy Day (West Allis, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) recorded an and-one three-point play to aid the run.

Lakeland cut its deficit down to seven points with under a minute left, but after the 12-2 run could not muster much of a threat as the Warriors coasted to the 11-point victory.

Johnson finished with a game-high 25 points to lead the WLC charge, while Allister finished with 12 points on 4-of-5 shooting from three point range. Katelyn Kuehl (Fond du Lac, Wis./Winnebago Lutheran) added 11 points, 10 rebounds and a team-high five assists. Kristen Schulz (Safford, Ariz./Arizona Lutheran) pulled down a game-high 11 rebounds, while Johnson added nine boards as WLC out-rebounded Lakeland, 44-29.

Becky Mayo was one of three players to finish with double-digit points for the Muskies with a team-high 15. Taylor Jandrin added 13 points and Dana Henrich chipped in with 12 for the hosts.

Wisconsin Lutheran (5-2, 3-0 NAC) returns to action Saturday when it hosts Rockford (3-4, 2-2 NAC) in a NAC matchup. Tip-off between the Warriors and Regents is set for 2 p.m. at the Recreation Complex.
