MILWAUKEE - The Wisconsin Lutheran College
volleyball team fell in four sets, 3-1, to the Marian University
Sabres in their home and conference opener Tuesday night at the
Recreation Complex.
The Sabres (1-9, 1-0 NAC) took the opening set 25-22 before the
Warriors rebounded with a set two victory, 25-18. Marian took the
final two sets by scores of 25-21 and 25-19.
Kelli Johnson (Milwaukee, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) led the
Warriors offensively with 14 kills. Rachel Johnson (Milwaukee,
Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) also finished with double-digit kills,
recording 12.
Four players had double-digit digs for the forest green and
white, led by Kayla Ridgeman's (Jefferson, Wis./Lakeside Lutheran)
25. Erin Greenfield (Wauwatosa, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) totaled 20
digs, while Mariah Bukiewicz (Oak Creek, Wis./Oak Creek) and Jenna
Neuberger (Muskego, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) finished with 15 and
14, respectively.
Bukiewicz also led WLC with 20 assists, while teammate Beth
Baxter (Germantown, Wis./Germantown) added 19.
Errors proved costly for the Warriors in the matchup as they
committed 39 attack errors.
Kaitlin Jarvis and Carlie Kinsey led the Sabres with 11 and 10
kills, respectively. Kinsey also amassed 21 digs for a
double-double.
Wisconsin Lutheran (2-5, 0-1 NAC) aims for its first conference
win Thursday night when it faces Dominican University in River
Forest, Ill. The match at the Igini Sports Forum is set to begin at
7 p.m.
