OSHKOSH, Wis. - The Wisconsin Lutheran College volleyball team split a pair of matches Friday night at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh Invitational.

In their opening match of the tournament, the Warriors downed Ripon College (2-10), 3-1. WLC took the opening set 25-23 before falling in set two, 25-19. They would rally to win the final two sets 25-22 and 25-17 for the match victory.

The Warriors then did battle with Wis.-Eau Claire, which also defeated Ripon earlier in the evening. The winner of the WLC and Wis.-Eau Claire match would be the Pool B champion.

The Blugolds (6-6) proved to be too much for Wisconsin Lutheran, winning the match 3-1. Eau Claire won the opening set 25-19, but the forest green and white responded with a 26-24 set two win. The Blugolds answered with 25-19 and 25-18 wins in the final two sets.

The Warriors (3-7) resume tournament play tomorrow morning by first taking on Carroll University (5-8) at 10 a.m. WLC will try to avenge a 3-2 loss to the Pioneers when the two teams met at the MSOE Quad last week. Wisconsin Lutheran then concludes tournament play by facing fellow NAC member Lakeland College (2-6) in a 12 p.m. non-conference clash.
