CHICAGO - The Wisconsin Lutheran College
volleyball team had its six-match winning streak snapped by
16th-ranked University of Chicago on Wednesday in a non-conference
match at the Ratner Center. The Maroons handed the Warriors just
their third 3-0 loss of the season.
Wisconsin Lutheran dropped all three sets to the Maroons by
closely-contested scores of 25-19, 25-22 and 25-22.
Offensively, the Warriors were paced by junior Steph Cox
(Sheboygan, Wis./Lutheran) and sophomore Erin Greenfield
(Wauwatosa, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran), who tallied seven kills
apiece. Sophomore Mariah Bukiewicz (Oak Creek, Wis./Oak Creek)
dished out 15 assists. Bukiewicz also registered a pair of service
aces.
Greenfield and senior Jenna Neuberger (Muskego, Wis./Wisconsin
Lutheran) posted a team-high 13 digs each and Cox totaled three
blocks for WLC defensively.
For the 16th-ranked Maroons (16-1), Morgan Clark collected seven
kills. Nikki DelZenero had 30 assists and Eirene Kim dug out 13
attacks.
Wisconsin Lutheran (9-9, 2-2 NAC) looks to move over .500 in
conference play when it hosts NAC rival Concordia University
Wisconsin (2-14, 1-3 NAC) on Saturday at the Recreation Complex.
The Homecoming match against the Falcons is scheduled for 12
p.m.
