MILWAUKEE - The Wisconsin Lutheran College
volleyball team won its third straight Northern Athletics
Conference match as they swept Rockford 3-0 Wednesday night at the
Recreation Complex.
The Warriors dominated all three sets beginning with a first set
25-13 win. WLC followed with wins in sets two and three by scores
of 25-16 and 25-17.
Erin Greenfield (Wauwatosa, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) paced the
Warriors attack as she led the team with nine kills. Kelli Johnson
(Milwaukee, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) and Katie Molter (Oostburg,
Wis./Oostburg) each tallied eight kills and Johnson finished the
match with a .429 attack percentage.
Steph Cox (Sheboygan, Wis./Lutheran) passed out 32 assists in
the win, while also tallying eight digs and two kills from the
setter spot. Leading Wisconsin Lutheran in digs were Ali
Engelbrecht (Green Bay, Wis./Fox Valley Lutheran) and Kayla
Ridgeman (Jefferson, Wis./Lakeside Lutheran) as they recorded 10
digs each. Molter added three block assists for WLC.
Nicole Lawler had 19 digs to lead Rockford (4-18, 1-7 NAC),
while Emily Johnson dished out 12 assists and added eight digs.
Laina Scheri tallied five kills for the Regents.
Wisconsin Lutheran (12-11, 5-4 NAC) returns to action this
Friday and Saturday when it competes in the highly-competitive
Midwest Invitational. Over two days, the Warriors will take on four
ranked teams beginning with #5 Hope (18-2) and #2 Calvin
(18-1) Friday. The matches at the Midwest Invitational will be held
at the DeVos Fieldhouse on the campus of Hope in Holland, Mich.
