ROCKFORD, Ill. - The Wisconsin Lutheran College men's soccer team rolled past Rockford 4-0 Tuesday afternoon in a Northern Athletics Conference game at Sam Greeley Field in Rockford, Ill.

Sophomore Brad Mallman (Plymouth, Wis./Plymouth) scored two goals on the afternoon in leading the Warriors to their second conference win of the season. Mallman scored the only goal of the first half at the 36:47 mark to give Wisconsin Lutheran a 1-0 lead heading into halftime.

In the opening half, the Warriors out-shot the host Regents, 11-0, with four of the WLC shots being fired on net. Rockford's goalkeeper Mick Goulding made three first-half saves to keep the margin at 1-0 heading into halftime.

The Warriors wasted little time in the second half building upon their lead as freshman Matt Schmidt (Wauwatosa, Wis./East) scored just 59 seconds into the second half for a 2-0 WLC lead. Mallman then struck again at the 70:48 mark, this time off a cross from Austin Drake (East Troy, Wis./East Troy) giving the Warriors a 3-0 lead with just under 20 minutes remaining in the game.

Isaac Kolterjahn (Sturgeon Bay, Wis./Sturgeon Bay) added his third goal of the season with just under 10 minutes left in the game to give WLC the 4-0 victory. Taylor Hershoff (New Berlin, Wis./Eisenhower) and Nate Wasser (Lake Geneva, Wis./Shoreland Lutheran) were credited with assists on the Kolterjahn goal.

For the game, Wisconsin Lutheran out-shot Rockford (1-9-1, 0-5-1 NAC), 20-2, including a 9-2 advantage in the second half. Both of Rockford's shots were on goal as Warriors keeper Jon Stewart (Waukesha, Wis./South) made two saves to pick up his seventh win of the season. Stewart played 85:22 before Josh Junker (Grant Park, Ill./Grant Park) relieved him in the game's final minutes.

Mallman led WLC with four shots, while Schmidt and Drake added three shots apiece. Rockford's two shots came from Devin Standard and Nathan Sweet.

Wisconsin Lutheran (7-6-0, 2-3-0 NAC) returns to the pitch Saturday when it continues a four-game road swing with a trip to Watertown, Wis., to face conference opponent Maranatha (5-6-0, 1-3-0 NAC). The Warriors and Crusaders are set to begin at 4:15 p.m. at Maranatha Field.
