LISLE, Ill. - The Wisconsin Lutheran College
volleyball team saw its 2012 season come to an end Tuesday as
second-seeded Benedictine eliminated the seventh-seeded Warriors
from the NAC Tournament with a 3-0 quarterfinal win at the Dan
& Ada Rice Center.
The Eagles took the opening set by a score of 25-18 and then
followed with a 25-17 set two victory. BenU would complete the
sweep with another 25-18 win in the third and final set.
Kayla Ridgeman (Jefferson, Wis./Lakeside Lutheran) finished the
contest with 17 digs, while setter Steph Cox (Sheboygan,
Wis./Lutheran) dished out 17 assists. Kelli Johnson (Milwaukee,
Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) led the team with eight kills and finished
the match with a .538 attack percentage.
The host Eagles were led by Nicole Adams' match-high 10 kills,
while Abby Sattler dished out 31 assists. Haley Fitzgerald added 19
digs to pace Benedictine (28-4). The Eagles advance to host #3
Dominican in a semifinal match Thursday. The Stars advanced to the
semifinal match by virtue of a 3-0 win over #6 Marian.
Wisconsin Lutheran concludes its season with a 13-18 overall
record that includes a 6-6 mark in conference play. The NAC
Tournament appearance for was the fourth straight for the
Warriors.
