MILWAUKEE - The Wisconsin Lutheran College
volleyball team collected a 3-1 Northern Athletics Conference win
over cross-town rival MSOE Friday night at the Kern Center.
The Warriors opened the match by cruising to a 25-13 first set
victory before falling 25-23 in the second set. WLC controlled sets
three and four, 25-15 and 25-16, and picked up their third
conference win in their last four matches.
Erin Greenfield (Wauwatosa, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) led
the Warriors Friday as she tallied a game-high 16 kills while
adding 11 digs for her 13th double-double of the season. As a team,
the Warriors totaled 96 digs as Kayla Ridgeman (Jefferson,
Wis./Lakeside Lutheran) led all players with 25. Also posting
double-digit digs for WLC were Heather Tompkins (Menomonee Falls,
Wis./Kettle Moraine Lutheran) and Mindy Schalinske (Burlington,
Wis./Shoreland Lutheran) as the duo finished with 19 and 13,
respectively.
Steph Cox (Sheboygan, Wis./Lutheran) dished out a match-best 40
assists for Wisconsin Lutheran. Kelli Johnson (Milwaukee,
Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) finished the match with a team-best .421
attack percentage en route to nine kills as WLC finished the match
with an attack percentage of .216.
The Raiders (3-13, 1-5 NAC) were led by Stephanie Hasler as she
recorded a double-double with 15 kills and 10 digs. Martha Savory
and Lynnsey LeCount tallied 21 and 20 digs, respectively, while Ali
Borrelli had 15 assists.
Wisconsin Lutheran (10-11, 3-4 NAC) returns to action tomorrow
afternoon when it hosts Alverno (3-16, 0-7 NAC) at the Recreation
Complex. The match between the Warriors and Inferno is set for 2
p.m.
