Rockford Box Score
Edgewood Box Score

MADISON, Wis. - The Wisconsin Lutheran College women's tennis team split a pair of Northern Athletics Conference matches on the road Saturday. The Warriors began the day by blanking Rockford 9-0, before falling to Edgewood 6-3.

In the win over the Regents, WLC was dominant in every match as the Warriors dropped just six games throughout all nine flights. Wisconsin Lutheran began its impressive run with three 8-0 wins in doubles action.

The three winning teams for WLC were Kaitlyn Strehlow (Hales Corners, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) and Stephanie Gengler (Slinger, Wis./Slinger) at #1 doubles, Kathryn Hendee (Rockton, Ill./Hononegah) and Kendall Bonnin (Kenosha, Wis./St. Joseph) at #2 and Alyssa Strangstalien (Cottage Grove, Wis./Monona Grove) and Emily Pearson (Prairie du Sac, Wis./Luther Preparatory) at #3 doubles.

The impressive play carried over to singles for Wisconsin Lutheran, led by Hendee who gained a 6-0, 6-1 win at #1. Pearson picked up a 6-0, 6-0 win at #2 singles for the Warriors, while Bonnin won her #3 singles match, 6-0, 6-1. Kalyn Geddes (Bend, Ore./Luther Preparatory) won her #4 singles contest 6-0, 6-1 and Bethany Soderlund (De Pere, Wis./Fox Valley Lutheran) gained a win at #5 singles, 6-1, 6-0. Rounding out the Warriors' lineup was Amanda Pearson (Prairie du Sac, Wis./Luther Preparatory), who was victorious 6-1, 6-1.

The Warriors were unable to carry that momentum over into their second match of the day as they fell in a rematch of last year's NAC Team Championship against the Eagles, 6-3. The matchup between the Warriors and Eagles featured the last two remaining unbeaten teams in the NAC.

WLC notched a pair of wins in doubles play versus Edgewood as the #2 team of Hendee and Bonnin won their match 8-4, while the #3 duo of Emily Pearson and Strangstalien gained an 8-5 victory.

In singles action, Edgewood (8-1, 7-0 NAC) took five of six flights to rally for the 6-3 win. The lone winner in singles play for Wisconsin Lutheran was Strehlow at #1 where she out-lasted EC's Morgan Wilson, 6-3, 5-7, 6-3.

Wisconsin Lutheran (7-3, 6-1 NAC) returns to action Wednesday when it hosts Marian (3-6, 3-3 NAC) in a NAC dual. The match between the Warriors and Sabres is set for 6 p.m. at Hart Park in Wauwatosa, Wis.
