MILWAUKEE - Senior guard Nate Bauer (Lake
Mills, Wis./Lakeside Lutheran) reached 1,000 career points and
senior guard Tim Demuth (Franksville, Wis./Racine Lutheran) scored
33 points, but the Wisconsin Lutheran College men's basketball team
fell in overtime to Marian 75-71 Saturday afternoon.
The game was sent into overtime courtesy of a Bauer jumper in
the paint with five seconds left in the second half as his shot
tied the score at 64-64. Marian scored the first four points of the
extra session but WLC answered with the next five, taking a 69-68
lead with 2:18 left in the game. The Sabres pushed their lead to
73-69 and held on for the 75-71 victory.
The start of the contest was all WLC as it jumped out to an 11-2
lead over the first five minutes, thanks to two three-pointers by
Demuth and one from Bauer. The Warriors lead stood at 20-11 with

lead to 26-22 at the break.

minutes was not enough to decide the contest.
