Box Score MILWAUKEE - Twin sisters Erin Greenfield (Wauwatosa, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) and Alayna Greenfield (Wauwatosa, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) each recored double-digit kills for the Wisconsin Lutheran College volleyball team Saturday, but it was not enough as Edgewood swept the Warriors 3-0 on Senior Day at the Recreation Complex. The Eagles (24-6, 11-0 NACC) topped the Warriors (9-22, 5-6 NACC) by scores of 25-18, 25-21, and 26-24.
In addition to the Greenfield's, seniors Kayla Ridgeman (Jefferson, Wis./Lakeside Lutheran), Linda Kenyon (Stevensville, Mich./Michigan Lutheran), Mindy Schalinske (Burlington, Wis./Shoreland Lutheran), Heather Tompkins (Menomonee Falls, Wis./Kettle Moraine Lutheran), and Kelli Johnson (Milwaukee, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) were all honored prior to the Senior Day match.
Edgewood hit .277 for the match, including .400 in the first set. The Warriors hit .132 on the afternoon.
Alayna Greenfield posted 12 kills and Erin Greenfield had 10 for WLC. Megan Wierzbicki (Hartford, Wis./Kettle Moraine Lutheran) led the Warriors with 10 digs. Ridgeman piled up a match-best 32 assists and five digs.
Jordan Winkler led the Eagles with a double-double, recording a match-best 20 kills and 15 digs. Lindsey Swansby dished out 23 assists and Rachel Thomson added a double-double with 15 assists and 14 digs. Four Eagles finished with 13 or more digs.
The Warriors have a week off before they finish out the regular season with a pair of non-conference matches against Washington (22-5) and Buffalo State (20-8) at 10 a.m. and 12:15 p.m., respectively, at the Bears invitational in St. Louis next Saturday.
