Box Score MILWAUKEE - The Wisconsin Lutheran College volleyball team won the opening set, but Lakeland stormed back to win the next three sets and take a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference match from the Warriors 3-1 Friday night at the Recreation Complex.
The Warriors (5-18, 2-2 NACC) were on fire in the opening set, hitting .353 and racking up 16 kills on the way to a 25-18 victory.
Lakeland (13-9, 3-1 NACC) rallied in the second set, hitting .321 to take the set 25-19. The Muskies hit .265 and hung on to win the pivotal third set 25-23 before clinching the match with a 25-19 win in the fourth set.
WLC hit .209 for the match and Lakeland hit .181. Kelli Johnson (Milwaukee, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) led the Warriors with a .364 hitting percentage and a match-high 19 kills along with five blocks.
Kayla Ridgeman (Jefferson, Wis./Lakeside Lutheran) recorded a team-high 18 digs and Megan Wierzbicki (Hartford, Wis./Kettle Moraine Lutheran) added 12 digs. Erin Greenfield (Wauwatosa, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) piled up 14 kills and seven digs. Alexis Hafemeister (Milwaukee, Wis./Wauwatosa West) totaled a match-high 41 assists and added six digs.
Three Muskies had double-digit kills, led by Amanda Dillman with 12. Caleigh Galvan had 16 digs and Brittany Reindl paced Lakeland with 36 assists along with seven digs.
The Warriors return to NACC action Saturday at Aurora (9-11, 2-1 NACC) at 11 a.m.
