MILWAUKEE - Senior Tim Demuth (Franksville,
Wis./Racine Lutheran) scored a game-high 20 points, but visiting
Concordia Wisconsin closed the game on a 9-3 run to claim a 61-55
win over Wisconsin Lutheran College Saturday on Winterfest and
Senior Day at the Recreation Complex.
The first half provided plenty of excitement as the lead changed
hands 11 times. The Warriors put together a quick 10-0 run with
four minutes left to give them a lead that they held onto finish
the half in front 32-29. The Warriors created their first half lead
with the help of two three-point shooters. Demuth and Kyle Stelse
(Jefferson, Wis./Lakeside Lutheran) combined to shoot 6 of 11 from
behind the three-point line. The duo finished the half with 15 and
10 points, respectively. Bauer's unselfish play gave him seven
assists in the half.
The Falcons came out firing in the second half scoring seven
straight points to take the lead. The Warriors fought back and tied
the Falcons three separate times, but they could not find a way to
get over the hump. Three-point shooting helped the Warriors survive
as seniors Demuth, Bauer, and Julion Griffin (Milwaukee,
Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) combined for four three-pointers in the
half. The Warriors' 25.9 field goal percentage (7 of 27) proved to
be the downfall as they could not connect late in regulation to
keep up with Concordia Wisconsin as they fell 61-55.
Demuth led the Warriors on the day with 20 points, while Bauer
and Stelse chipped in 14 points apiece. Bauer also added eight
assists to his stat column. Freshman Nate Siemers (Nicollet,
Minn./Minnesota Valley Lutheran) led the Warriors in rebounding as
he snagged six rebounds during the game.
Concordia Wisconsin (16-8, 11-4 NAC) was paced by three players
who reached double-digits. Brian Jackson, Mark Pace, and Keith
Kahlfeldt scored 17, 12, and 10 points, respectively. Jackson
pulled down 11 rebounds to give him a double-double. Malcolm Bowers
also collected 10 rebounds to aid the Falcons. Concordia Wisconsin
outscored the Warriors 24-12 inside the paint and made 23 of 32
free throws, compared to 11 of 15 for the Warriors.

season game Tuesday at Concordia Chicago (3-21, 3-12 NAC). Tip-off
