Tigers Top Warriors In Final Florida Match

KISSIMMEE, Fla. - The Wisconsin Lutheran College women's tennis team fell in its final Florida match Friday to the Colorado College Tigers, 7-2, at Star Island Resort and Club.

The Warriors' two victories came in singles play where senior Kaitlyn Strehlow (Hales Corners, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) continued her success in Florida by defeating Mary Edman 5-7, 6-4, 10-1 in #1 singles play. Freshman Kendall Bonnin (Kenosha, Wis./St. Joseph) also used all three sets to complete a 6-3, 4-6, 10-8 win over Caila Criss in the #4 singles match. The Tigers won the remaining four matches in singles action in two-set fashion.

The Warriors battled but dropped all three matches to the Tigers in doubles play. Sophomore Stephanie Gengler (Slinger, Wis./Slinger) and Strehlow fell 7-6 in the #1 doubles match, and senior Terri Glasel (Appleton, Wis./Fox Valley Lutheran) and Bonnin fell 9-8 in the #3 doubles match.

Wisconsin Lutheran (11-6) resumes it spring schedule April 13 when it plays Dubuque (4-7) and Monmouth (1-13) at Hart Park in Wauwatosa, Wis.
