Box Score MILWAUKEE - The Wisconsin Lutheran College volleyball team (3-4, 1-0 NACC) opened both its home and conference schedule with a 3-1 win over MSOE (3-5, 0-1 NACC) Tuesday at the Recreation Complex.
After stunning the Raiders by coming back from trailing 2-0 to win 3-2 last Wednesday at the Kern Center, the Warriors needed just four sets to come away with a victory this time. They opened the match with a 25-22 win in the first set before falling by that same score in the second set to even the match. The Warriors took a close third set 25-23 before winning the fourth set 25-18 to clinch the match.
Senior Erin Greenfield (Wauwatosa, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) recorded a double-double for the Warriors with a team-high 14 kills to go along with 17 digs. Fellow senior Kayla Ridgeman (Jefferson, Wis./Lakeside Lutheran) led the team with 21 digs and added three service aces. Senior Kelli Johnson (Milwaukee, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) paced the team with six blocks. Sophomore Alexis Hafemeister (Milwaukee, Wis./Wauwatosa West) finished with a team-best 37 assists.
Maria Bintz led the Raiders with 10 kills. Ali Borrelli registered a team-best 27 assists and 18 digs for a double-double.
The Warriors return to non-conference action Wednesday at Ripon (5-4) at 5 p.m.
