WAUWATOSA, Wis. - The Wisconsin Lutheran College women's tennis team won 6-3 over Rockford and lost 9-0 to Edgewood to wrap-up its fall season Saturday at Hart Park.
The Warriors led the Regents (0-11, 0-11 NACC) 2-1 after doubles play. Kendall Bonnin (Kenosha, Wis./St. Joseph's) and Kalyn Geddes (Bend, Ore./Luther Prepatory) won 8-4 at No. 1 doubles. Susanna Harbach (Nodine, Minn./Luther) and Rachel Klement (Midland, Mich./Homeschooled) were 8-3 winners in No. 3 doubles.
In singles play, Bonnin won 6-0, 6-0 in the No. 1 slot. Harbach recorded a 6-2, 6-2 victory in No. 2 singles. Geddes won 6-0, 6-1 in No. 3 singles. Amanda Pearson (Prairie du Sac, Wis./Luther Prepatory) won a hard-fought 6-7, 6-3, 10-8 No. 5 singles match.
In the second match of the day, Edgewood (12-3, 11-0 NACC) swept the Warriors (5-10, 5-6 NACC).
Harbach and Klement lost a close 8-5 match in No. 3 doubles. In singles play, Bonnin fell 6-3, 6-3 in the No. 1 slot and Geddes dropped a tight 6-2, 3-6, 9-11 match in No. 3 singles.
The matches closed the fall season for the Warriors. Their chances to reach the NACC Tournament in spring depend on several matches remaining in conference play.
