Volleyball Swept By Rival Falcons

MEQUON, Wis. - The Wisconsin Lutheran College volleyball team was dealt a 3-0 sweep by rival Concordia Wisconsin Saturday afternoon in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference play at R. John Buuck Field House.

WHERE THEY STAND

• The Warriors dropped to 0-17 overall and 0-7 in the NACC, while the Falcons improved to 17-5 overall and 6-1 in conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Concordia Wisconsin jumped out to an 8-1 lead and took the first set 25-16. WLC came as close as three points at 11-8 early in the set.
• The Falcons took set two 25-22. The Warriors trimmed the lead down to two points late in the set at 21-19, and again at 24-22.
• The Warriors led by a score of 12-8 in the third set before a run of 10 straight points by Concordia Wisconsin put the Falcons up 18-12. WLC brought it within one at 21-20 before CUW won the third and final set by a score of 25-21.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• Wisconsin Lutheran hit .078 for the match, compared to the Falcons' .223.
• Alexis Hafemeister (Milwaukee, Wis./Wauwatosa West) led the Warriors with a match high 20 assists, Haley Feucht (Campbellsport, Wis./Campbellsport) racked up 13 kills, and Megan Wierzbicki (Hartford, Wis./Kettle Moraine Lutheran) collected 13 digs to lead both teams.
• Hannah Griffiths and Ashley Jehlicka recorded double-doubles for the Falcons. Griffiths and Jehlicka each recorded a team leading 11 kills, Carley Valentine and Jehlicka dished out 17 assists, and Griffiths notched 12 digs.
