WLC Held Off By Rockford On Senior Night

MILWAUKEE - The Wisconsin Lutheran College volleyball team won a tightly-contested first set before dropping the next three in a 3-1 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference loss to Rockford Wednesday night inside the Recreation Complex.

WHERE THEY STAND

• The Warriors fell to 1-19 overall and 1-9 in the NACC, while Rockford moved to 9-16 with a 2-8 mark in the NACC.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• WLC pulled out a see-saw battle in the first set, outlasting Rockford 31-29. 
• Rockford tied the match by winning the second set 25-20.
• Both teams had their best attack percentages of the match in the third set, as the Regents outhit the Warriors .457 to .375 and took the set 25-21. 
• Rockford captured the fourth set 25-23 to clinch the match.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• The Regents outhit the Warriors .245 to .182 for the match.
• Haley Feucht (Campbellsport, Wis./Campbellsport) recorded a season-high 19 kills and added 10 kills for a double-double. Andrea Hafemeister (Milwaukee, Wis./Wauwatosa West) also posted a double-double with 11 kills and 20 digs. Anamarie Stern (Waco, Neb./Nebraska Lutheran) registered 10 kills and a team-high three service aces.
• Alexis Hafemeister (Milwaukee, Wis./Wauwatosa West) dished out a season-high 50 assists to go along with eight digs. Megan Wierzbicki contributed a match-high 24 digs. 
• Kayla Kurz hit .439 for a match-high 21 kills and provided a team-high 18 digs for Rockford. Katelyn Hasken also notched a double-double with 11 kills and 14 digs, while Taylor Rossi passed out a team-high 41 assists.
• The match marked the final home contest in the career of senior Jeni Polzin (Rhinelander, Wis./Rhinelander) who was honored before the match on Senior Night.
