Box Score MADISON, Wis. - The Wisconsin Lutheran College volleyball team was defeated by Edgewood in its final Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference match of the season Saturday afternoon, 3-1, at the Todd Wehr Edgedome.
WHERE THEY STAND
- The Warriors fell to 1-20 overall and finished 1-10 in the NACC. The Eagles improved to 19-11 overall and solidified the third seed in the upcoming conference tournament with a 9-2 record.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The first set was close through the first 20 points until Edgewood pulled away for a 25-16 win.
- The Eagles jumped out to an early 7-3 lead in the second set, but WLC fought back to tie the score at 18 apiece. Edgewood then finished strong to win the set 25-20.
- The third set was neck-and-neck before WLC took its first set of the match 25-23.
- Edgewood won the fourth set 25-18 to win the match three sets to one.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- WLC hit .087 for the match while the Eagles finished at .200.
- Both teams totaled exactly 150 attacks.
- Nicole Klipstein (Hartford, Wis./Hartford) and Haley Feucht (Campbellsport, Wis./Campbellsport) each recorded 12 kills to lead WLC. Feucht added 11 digs for a double-double. the fifth of her rookie campaign.
- Alexis Hafemeister (Milwaukee, Wis./Wauwatosa West) assisted on 35 of the Warriors' 42 kills to lead the team, and Megan Wierzbicki (Hartford, Wis./Kettle Moraine Lutheran) led Wisconsin Lutheran with 25 digs.
- Carly Warner (Clear Lake, Wis./Clear Lake) collected a team-best five block assists.
- Edgewood was paced by Jordan Winkler and Elizabeth Evans who tallied 12 kills each. Winkler also tallied 14 digs for a double-double.
- Haley Schwenn and Rachel Thomsen added 27 and 19 assists respectively, and Rachel Tesch contributed with 22 digs.
UP NEXT
- The Warriors' season concludes next Friday and Saturday when they take part in the Barker Chevrolet Classic hosted by Illinois Wesleyan in Bloomington, Ill. WLC will face Lakeland (14-15) and Illinois College (7-16) in its two Friday matches.
