Warriors Dealt Sweep By Muskies

SHEBOYGAN, Wis. – The Wisconsin Lutheran College volleyball team was dealt a 3-0 sweep by Lakeland Friday night in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference play at Woltzen Gymnasium.

WHERE THEY STAND

• The Warriors dropped to 0-14 overall and 0-4 in the NACC, while the Muskies improved to 9-13 overall and 2-2 in conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Lakeland jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the opening set and held the lead through the remainder, winning 25-17. WLC came as close as two points at 7-5 early on.
• LC jumped ahead 5-1 again in the second set and led 14-5 before the Warriors came back to close within 20-16. The Muskies took set two 25-18.
• The Warriors jumped ahead 4-1 in the third set, but Lakeland stormed back for a 14-10 lead and never looked back as it won 25-20.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• Wisconsin Lutheran hit .062 for the match, compared to the Muskies' .259.
• Andrea Hafemeister (Milwaukee, Wis./Wauwatosa West) had a team-high seven kills, Alexis Hafemeister (Milwaukee, Wis./Wauwatosa West) recorded 18 assists, and Megan Wierzbicki (Hartford, Wis./Kettle Moraine Lutheran) collected 11 digs.
• Jenna Ward paced the Muskies with 12 kills, Taylor Levitt dished out 35 assists, and Caleigh Galvan had 16 digs.
