MADISON, Wis. - The Wisconsin Lutheran College women's tennis team couldn't stop Edgewood's winning ways, as the NACC-leading Eagles won their 34th consecutive conference dual match with an 8-1 victory over the Warriors Thursday afternoon at Quann Park.
Edgewood (4-3, 4-0 NACC) swept through doubles play, as WLC's (2-3, 1-3 NACC) team of Kendall Bonnin (Kenosha, Wis./St. Joseph) and Paige Potaracke (La Crosse, Wis./Onalaska Luther) dropped a close 8-6 match at No. 1 doubles.
The Eagles won the top five singles flights in straight sets. Amanda Pearson (Prairie du Sac, Wis./Luther Preparatory) fell 6-4, 6-3 at No. 5 singles. Emily Boyd (Lebanon, Wis./Luther Preparatory) picked up the lone point for the Warriors with a hard-fought 7-5, 7-6 (11-9) victory at No. 6 singles.
Wisconsin Lutheran returns to the court for a pair of matches Saturday in Aurora, Ill., facing Benedictine (3-2, 3-2 NACC) at 10 a.m. and Aurora (2-3, 2-2 NACC) at 2 p.m.
