WAUWATOSA, Wis. - The Wisconsin Lutheran College women's tennis team ended a three-match losing streak with an 8-1 win over Lakeland (1-5, 1-5 NACC) Tuesday night at Hart Park.
WLC (3-5, 2-5 NACC) swept through singles play, as both the No. 1 team of Kendall Bonnin (Kenosha, Wis./St. Joseph's) and Paige Potaracke (La Crosse, Wis./Onalaska Luther) and the No. 2 duo of Kalyn Geddes (Bend, Ore./Luther Preparatory) and Bethany Soderlund (De Pere, Wis./Fox Valley Lutheran) won by identical 8-1 scores. Amanda Pearson (Prairie du Sac, Wis./Luther Preparatory) and Tabitha Schultz (Spokane, Wash./Luther Preparatory) won by default at No. 3 doubles.
Potaracke (6-0, 6-0), Geddes (6-1, 6-3), Soderlund (6-0, 4-6, 10-6), Pearson (6-0, 6-1), and Schultz (by default) all claimed victories at No. 2 through No. 6 singles, respectively. Bonnin trailed her No. 1 singles match 6-4, 2-1 before retiring.
Wisconsin Lutheran returns to Hart Park to host first-place Concordia Wisconsin (6-1, 6-0 NACC) next Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.
