Women's Tennis Handed Setback By Rival Falcons

WAUWATOSA, Wis. - The Wisconsin Lutheran College women's tennis team suffered an 8-1 defeat to Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference rival Concordia Wisconsin (7-1, 7-0 NACC) Wednesday night at Hart Park. 

The Warriors (3-6, 2-6 NACC) were swept 3-0 in doubles play, including a close 8-5 loss by Paige Potaracke (La Crosse, Wis./Onalaska Luther) and Kalyn Geddes (Bend, Ore./Luther Preparatory) at the No. 1 slot. Emily Boyd (Lebanon, Wis./Luther Preparatory) claimed WLC's lone point in singles play with a come-from-behind 3-6, 7-5, 10-2 triumph in No. 6 singles. 

Potaracke fell 6-3, 6-2 in No. 1 singles and Bethany Soderlund (De Pere, Wis./Fox Valley Lutheran) battled in the second set of a 6-1, 6-4 loss at the No. 3 spot.

Wisconsin Lutheran closes out its fall slate with a pair of NACC home matches Saturday, hosting Marian (1-10, 0-8 NACC) at 10 a.m. and MSOE (2-11, 2-6 NACC) at 2 p.m. at Hart Park.
