Volleyball Swept By Eagles In Home Opener

MILWAUKEE - The Wisconsin Lutheran College volleyball team was dealt a 3-0 sweep by Benedictine Wednesday night in its home opener at the Recreation Complex.

WHERE THEY STAND

• The Warriors dropped to 0-8 and 0-2 in NACC play while the Eagles moved to 4-11 and 2-0 in the NACC.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• BenU dominated the first two sets 25-10 and 25-8 while hitting .455 and .588, respectively. 
• The Eagles hit .333 to complete the sweep with a 25-16 victory in the third set.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• The Eagles hit .435 for the match and registered nine blocks and nine service aces.
• Megan Wierzbicki (Hartford, Wis./Kettle Moraine Lutheran) notched a match-high 12 digs.
• Nicole Klipstein (Hartford, Wis./Hartford) led WLC with six kills and Carly Warner (Clear Lake, Wis./Clear Lake) added five kills.
• Alexis Hafemeister (Milwaukee, Wis./Wauwatosa West) dished out 16 assists for the Warriors.
• Erin Wiegand posted match bests with eight kills and five block assists for Benedictine. Keriann Groen collected seven kills on an .875 attack percentage.
• Abby Screnock passed out a match-high 21 assists and Molly Morley led the Eagles with 11 digs. 

UP NEXT 

• Wisconsin Lutheran hosts the IIAC/NACC Challenge Friday and Saturday at the Recreation Complex. In Friday's matches, the Warriors will face Simpson (6-6) at 1 p.m. and Dubuque (7-12) at 5 p.m.
