Volleyball Handed Sweep By Sabres

FOND DU LAC, Wis. - The Wisconsin Lutheran College volleyball team fought through three close sets, but couldn't overcome Marian and suffered a 3-0 sweep Tuesday night inside Sadoff Gymnasium.

WHERE THEY STAND

• The Warriors dropped to 0-13 and 0-3 in NACC play while the Sabres upped their record to 5-13 and 1-1 in the NACC.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Marian hit an impressive .361 in the opening set and battled back from a 14-11 deficit for a 25-20 win.
• The Warriors jumped out to a 7-4 lead in the second set and later held a 14-10 advantage. WLC pushed the lead to 24-21 and were within one point of winning the set, but the Sabres claimed the next three points and eventually won the set 28-26.
• WLC never led in the final set and fell 25-21.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• Marian outhit WLC .228 to .154. 
• Haley Feucht (Campbellsport, Wis./Campbellsport) paced the Warriors with 14 kills. Megan Wierzbicki (Hartford, Wis./Kettle Moraine Lutheran) posted a match-high 21 digs and Alexis Hafemeister (Milwaukee, Wis./Wauwatosa West) handed out a match-best 35 assists.
• Jessica Roberts registered a match-high 16 kills for the Sabres, Emily Drier and Michelle Koster each notched 14 digs, and Amber Baker dished out 23 assists.
