WAUWATOSA, Wis. - The Wisconsin Lutheran College women's tennis team opened the home portion of its schedule by splitting two conference matches against Dominican and Concordia Chicago Saturday at Hart Park.
The Warriors found themselves in an early hole in their first match of the day as the Stars swept all three doubles matches. WLC bounced back with wins at No. 1, No. 2, and No. 3 singles. Kendall Bonnin (Kenosha, Wis./St. Joseph) won 2-6, 7-5, 10-8, Paige Potaracke (La Crosse, Wis./Onalaska Luther) was a 2-6, 6-2, 10-7 winner, and Kayln Geddes (Bend, Ore./Luther Preparatory) claimed a 6-0, 6-1 victory. DU followed up by winning the remaining three singles matches to take the match 6-3.
Wisconsin Lutheran had little trouble with Concordia Chicago in its second match of the day. WLC took two of three doubles flights to open the match as Bonnin and Potaracke won 8-2, and Geddes and Bethany Soderlund (De Pere, Wis./Fox Valley Lutheran) teamed to collect an 8-3 victory.
WLC swept through singles play as Bonnin (6-1, 6-2), Potaracke (6-7, 6-1, 11-9), Geddes (6-4, 6-3), Soderlund (6-0, 6-2), Amanda Pearson (Prairie du Sac, Wis./Luther Preparatory) (6-3, 6-2), and Emily Boyd (Lebanon, Wis./Luther Preparatory) (6-2, 6-0) collected victories at No. 1 through No. 6 singles, respectively.
The Warriors (2-2, 1-2 NACC) remain home Wednesday when they host conference foe Concordia Wisconsin (3-1, 3-0 NACC) at 4 p.m. at Hart Park.
