Box Score LISLE, Ill. - Karisa Pedersen (Bonduel, Wis./Bonduel) scored 14 points off the bench to lead four players in double-figures as the Wisconsin Lutheran College women's basketball team prevailed over Benedictine 59-52 Saturday afternoon at the Dan and Ada Rice Center.
WHERE THEY STAND
- The Warriors won their 13th straight game to move to 14-3 overall and alone in first place in the NACC at 12-1. The Eagles dropped their second conference contest of the season against the Warriors to fall to 10-7 overall and 10-2 in league play.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The opening 20 minutes between the conference's only one-loss teams was tightly contested as it featured five ties and a pair of lead changes.
- With the score knotted at 7-7, the Eagles netted six straight points for their largest lead of the half. Trailing 16-12, the Warriors rattled off 10 consecutive points for their biggest advantage of the period, 22-16, with 3:25 remaining.
- Benedictine came back with six straight to tie the contest again before Kristen Schulz (Safford, Ariz./Arizona Lutheran) tallied the final four points of the half for a 26-22 Warriors halftime lead.
- The Warriors scored the first four points of the second half and never relinquished the lead. BenU came within one point at 30-29 before a 12-2 Warriors run gave them their first double-digit lead of the game at 42-31 at the 10:37 mark.
- The Eagles again cut their deficit to five points at 43-38 before another 10-2 Warriors run gave them their largest lead of the game with 3:03 left. Benedictine came no closer than seven points before the final horn sounded.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- The Warriors shot 44.2 percent (19-for-43) for the second straight game, while limiting the Eagles to 31.8 percent (21-for-66).
- Schulz posted her 16th double-double of the year with 11 points and 18 rebounds to go along with four blocks. Caitlin Knueppel (Wauwatosa, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) also scored 11 points, and Christel Frey (Milwaukee, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) totaled 10.
- Pedersen, who shot 4-for-8 from three-point range, has shot 50 percent or better from long distance in nine games this season.
- After being out-rebounded 21-15 in the first half, the Warriors came back to win the rebounding battle 38-36.
- Wisconsin Lutheran shot a season-best 78.9 percent (15-for-19) from the free throw line.
- Meghan Novak poured in a game-high 16 points and Nicole Botich added 12 for the Eagles.
