WAUWATOSA, Wis. - Despite dropping its final two matches against MSOE and Alverno to conclude its regular season conference schedule on Saturday, the Wisconsin Lutheran College women's tennis team earned the fourth seed in the NACC Tournament, which will take place in the spring.

HOW IT HAPPENED VS. MSOE
- The Warriors won the opening match at No. 1 doubles over the Raiders in a match played at CUW Tennis Courts, as Paige Potaracke (La Crosse, Wis./Luther) and Kayln Geddes (Bend, Ore./Luther Preparatory) collected an 8-5 victory. The Raiders took the remaining two flights by 8-3 and 8-2 finals.
- WLC claimed singles wins at No. 2, No. 4, and No. 6 as Geddes (6-3, 6-4), Amanda Pearson (Prairie du Sac, Wis./Luther Preparatory) (6-4, 6-2), and Katarina Volkmann (Slinger, Wis./Slinger) (6-2, 6-3) were each victorious. MSOE edged WLC with wins at No. 1, No. 3, and No. 5.
HOW IT HAPPENED VS. ALVERNO
- In its regular season conference finale against the Inferno at Hart Park, Wisconsin Lutheran was swept in doubles play as visiting Alverno earned 8-5, 8-2, and 8-6 victories.
- WLC collected its first win at No. 2 singles with Geddes claiming a 6-0, 6-1 win. Emily Boyd (Lebanon, Wis./Luther Preparatory) picked up a three-set victory at No. 5, 0-6, 6-2, 10-5. Volkmann wrapped up singles play with a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 6.
- Geddes wrapped up her senior season with an 8-2 singles record in conference matches, while Boyd and Volkmann each finished 7-2 in the NACC.
- The Warriors' six conference victories are their most since 2012-2013 when they tied a program record with 10 wins.
UP NEXT
- Saturday's matches mark the end of the fall season for the Warriors. They'll resume competition during the spring season where they'll be the fourth seed in the six-team NACC Tournament. WLC will host fifth-seeded Marian in a first round match on May 2. The Warriors defeated the Sabres 5-4 in their previous conference matchup on September 16.
