Eagles Outlast Warriors In Battle Of NACC Unbeatens

WAUWATOSA, Wis. – The Wisconsin Lutheran College women's tennis team dropped a 7-2 match to Edgewood in a battle of conference unbeatens on Sunday afternoon at Hart Park. The loss snapped the Warriors' six-match winning streak.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Eagles took control of the matchup early, winning all three doubles flights and four of six singles matches. Edgewood won the first four singles matches in straight sets.
  • Emily Boyd (Lebanon, Wis./Luther Preparatory) won the first match for WLC in singles at No. 5 with 7-6, 6-4 sweep. She improved to 7-1 overall and 5-0 in the NACC on the season.
  • Natalie Anderson (Cedarburg, Wis./Cedarburg) took the next match for the Warriors in three sets at No. 6, 2-6, 6-2, 10-7.

UP NEXT

  • WLC returns to conference action on Tuesday when it travels to Kohler to face off against Lakeland (0-7, 0-7 NACC) in a 4 p.m. matchup. Lakeland's last match resulted in an 8-1 defeat against Edgewood.
