Warriors Blank Bucs In Regular Season Finale

MILWAUKEE - The Wisconsin Lutheran College women's tennis team wrapped up its regular season this afternoon by blanking the Beloit Buccaneers 9-0 in non-conference action at Elite Sports Club.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Warriors took all three doubles matches from the Buccaneers by scores of 8-2. 
• Paige Potaracke (La Crosse, Wis./Luther) and Kayln Geddes (Bend, Ore./Luther Preparatory) won at No. 1, Emily Boyd (Lebanon, Wis./Luther Preparatory) and Tabitha Schulz (Spokane, Wash./Luther Preparatory) were victorious at No. 2, and Kendra Bergmann (Slinger, Wis./Slinger) and Taylor Bergmann (Slinger, Wis./Slinger) claimed a win at No. 3.
• WLC would go on to win all six singles matches over Beloit. 
• At No. 1 singles, Potaracke defeated Sarah Rapp 4-6, 6-0, 10-8. Geddes defeated Kiri Youngquist 6-0, 7-6 at No. 2, and Schultz took Alex Kurpiel to three sets before she won 6-4, 2-6, 10-8. 
• Katarina Volkmann (Slinger, Wis./Slinger) defeated Allison Vance 6-0, 6-1 at No. 4 singles, Boyd would go on to defeat Sarah Pipal 6-2, 6-2, and Kendra Bergmann won the final match of the day for the Warriors over Beloit's Renny Vilien 6-0, 6-0.

• The fourth-seeded Warriors are back in action tomorrow when they host fifth-seeded Marian (9-8, 6-4 NACC) in the first round of the NACC Tournament at 2:00 p.m. at Elite Sports Club in Brookfield. WLC defeated MU 5-4 in its previous meeting during the fall conference season.
