Women's Tennis Falls To Lady Reds, Green Knights Sunday

RACINE, Wis. (WLCSports.com) - The Wisconsin Lutheran College women's tennis team dropped a pair of non-conference duals Sunday to Carthage and St. Norbert, 9-0, at LifeSport Tennis Club.

• The Warriors dropped a pair of tightly contested doubles matches at No. 1 and No. 3, 8-4, to open their match vs. the Lady Reds.
• Sandhya Akella (Carmel, Ind.) dropped a tough three-set bout at No. 4 singles, 6-0, 6-7, 12-10, and Katarina Volkmann (Slinger, Wis.) fell 6-4, 7-5 at No. 6.
• In its matinee match vs. the Green Knights, WLC's No. 2 doubles team of Akella and Volkmann suffered a tough 9-7 setback.
• Wisconsin Lutheran was handed a pair of close setbacks in singles play as Hannah Gerbing (Pewaukee, Wis.) fell 7-6, 6-3 at No. 2, and Amanda Las (Bangor, Wis.) dropped a three-set contest 6-1, 2-6, 10-8 at No. 6.

• The Warriors host Beloit (3-9) next Saturday in their final non-conference match of the season before the NACC Tournament.
