(WLCSports.com) – Behind a season-high 35 first-quarter points, the Wisconsin Lutheran College women's basketball team cruised to an 83-49 victory over Marian Wednesday night inside Sadoff Gymnasium. Senior Tierney Woodward (Poynette, Wis.) scored a career-high 21 points on seven threes as the Warriors netted a season-best 83 points.

- The Warriors raced out to an early 11-2 lead just over two minutes into the game behind a trio of three-point makes, including two from Woodward. Wisconsin Lutheran's offense continued to find success throughout the opening frame, scoring a season-high 35 points en route to 35-10 advantage after one quarter. The first-quarter surge saw WLC shoot 70.0 percent (14-of-20) from the floor along with 75.0 percent (6-of-8) from deep.
- Woodward knocked down her fifth three-pointer to open the scoring in the second quarter and pushed the Warriors' lead up to 28. Sophomore Jenna Mace (Wisconsin Dells, Wis.) added a pair of layups and Woodward rained down another triple as WLC held a 47-19 lead at halftime.
- The lead reached 37 at the end of the third quarter after sophomore Abby Vavra (Mukwonago, Wis.) connected on a layup as time ran out to push the score to 65-28. Sophomore Ally Gough (Horicon, Wis.) had five points in the quarter and freshman Amanda Klasinski (Stevens Point, Wis.) drained a three midway through the period.
- WLC pushed its lead to a game-high 42 points in the fourth quarter on a free throw make from freshman Julia Holtz (Lowell, Wis.). Wisconsin Lutheran saw contributions from many players in the final minutes as Gough had a pair of buckets along with Holtz, while freshman Simeon Schult (Wausau, Wis.) added a jumper with a couple minutes left. The Warriors closed out the 34-point win with a season-best 83 points.
- The Warriors shot 49.3 percent (34-of-69) from the floor, their second-highest mark of the season, and 40.7 percent (11-of-27) from beyond the arc. WLC found much of its success in the paint, out-scoring the Sabres 44-10.
- Woodward paced WLC with a career-high 21 points on 7-of-11 shooting from beyond the arc. Her seven three-point makes tie for second-most in a game in program history and were the most in a game since February 1, 2018.
- Junior Amanda Brug (Sturtevant, Wis.) rounded out the Warriors in double figures with 17 points.
- Sophomore Maria Murray (Middleton, Wis.) finished with a team-high seven rebounds while Mace had a game-high six assists.
- The Warriors defense forced 22 Sabres turnovers, which they turned into 36 points. Wisconsin Lutheran gathered 12 steals, with sophomore Kalies Birkholz (Watertown, Wis.) leading the way with five.
- The Green and White won their 23rd straight game over Marian in the all-time series.
- Claire Levendoski led the Sabres with 11 points, who shot 33.3 percent (15-of-45) from the floor and 36.8 percent (7-of-19) from deep.
- Levendoski recorded a game-high eight rebounds and four Sabres finished with a pair of assists to lead the hosts.
