Warriors Light Up Scoreboard Behind Balanced Attack

MILWAUKEE (WLCSports.com) – Four players scored in double figures as the Wisconsin Lutheran College women's basketball team cruised to a 91-47 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference win over Alverno on Wednesday night inside Reiman Gymnasium. The 91 points scored by the Warriors were a season high and the most since February 12 of last season.

  • Junior Amanda Brug (Sturtevant, Wis.) knocked down a pair of jumpers on the Warriors' first two possessions to take an early 4-0 lead. Alverno responded with a 6-0 spurt to take its only lead of the game as WLC answered with a seven-point run of its own to regain control.
  • Late in the first quarter, senior Kelly Tramburg (Fall River, Wis.) connected on a pair of threes to extend the lead to 17-8 with 2:52 remaining. Wisconsin Lutheran ended the first period with an eight-point lead at 19-11.
  • Midway through the second quarter, an 11-0 Warriors run pushed the score up to 37-15. The Green and White made a trio of baskets from beyond the arc over the stretch.
  • Wisconsin Lutheran closed out the first half on a 14-0 run to take a commanding 51-19 lead into the break. Six different Warriors scored during the run, paced by four points from sophomore Morgan Tramburg (Fall River, Wis.).
  • Another 8-0 run in the third quarter pushed the lead up to 40 at 67-27. Morgan Tramburg knocked down a pair of shots and senior Tierney Woodward (Poynette, Wis.) hit a jumper with 1:34 left in the quarter to close the stretch.
  • The Warriors opened the final quarter with a three from Woodward and received scoring contributions from sophomore Maria Murray (Middleton, Wis.) and freshman Amanda Klasinski (Stevens Point, Wis.) as WLC won 91-47 over the Inferno.

  • Brug scored a game-high 16 points to pace four Warriors in double figures. Morgan Tramburg added a career-high 14, sophomore Jenna Mace (Wisconsin Dells, Wis.) recorded 13, and Kelly Tramburg finished with 12.
  • WLC shot 50.0 percent (38-of-76) from the field and 39.1 percent (9-of-23) from downtown.
  • Wisconsin Lutheran out-rebounded the Inferno 45-34, including 14 boards on the offensive glass. The Warriors held a big advantage in points in the paint, 58-24, and points off turnovers, 27-9. 
  • The Green and White pushed the pace throughout, scoring 30 points on the fastbreak.
  • WLC won its 12th straight game over Alverno and wrapped up the No. 3 seed in next week's NACC Tournament.

  • Eniya Madden led the Inferno with 14 points and six assists, while Keeshya Bellows added 11 points.
  • Alverno shot 34.5 percent (20-of-58) from the floor and 25.0 percent (2-of-8) from beyond the arc.
