(WLCSports.com) – The third-seeded Wisconsin Lutheran College women's basketball team saw its 2019-2020 season come to an end on Friday night, falling to second-seeded Edgewood in a NACC Tournament semifinal 79-57 inside the Todd Wehr Edgedome. It was the Warriors' 13th consecutive conference tournament semifinal appearance.

The Eagles stormed out to 14-0 lead over the Warriors at the 5:23 mark of the first quarter. WLC was unable to connect on any of its first nine shot attempts and EC made good on three of its first four, including two triples. Wisconsin Lutheran came as close as 11 points in the opening period after a layup from sophomore Jenna Mace (Wisconsin Dells, Wis,) and a three from senior Kelly Tramburg (Fall River, Wis.). EC carried a 22-7 lead into the second quarter after shooting 66.7 percent from the floor.

Edgewood opened the second quarter with a 6-2 spurt to take a 19-point lead at the 7:05 mark. An 11-4 run by the Green and White cut the deficit to just 10 points at 34-24 with 2:04 left before halftime, highlighted by threes from Kelly Tramburg and sophomore Ally Gough (Horicon, Wis. ). The Eagles answered with five points before the half for a 15-point lead at intermission.

EC maintained a lead between 14 and 17 points through the first six minutes of the third quarter before extending it to 20 points at the 4:00 minute juncture. The hosts headed into the fourth quarter with a 19-point lead at 61-42.

The Warriors shot a team-high 46.7 percent from the floor in the fourth quarter but it was too little too late as the Eagles increased their lead to a game-high 27 points with 5:20 left on their way to the semifinal win. Five different players scored in the period for WLC.

Kelly Tramburg paced three players in double figures with a game-high 17 points. Mace added 11 points and junior Amanda Brug (Sturtevant, Wis.) finished with 10 to round out the double-digit scorers.

Wisconsin Lutheran was held to just 33.8 percent (22-for-65) shooting for the game and went 9-for-12 from the charity stripe for 75 percent.

The Green and White made their 13th straight NACC Tournament semifinal appearance and are now 29-5 all-time in conference tournament games.

Kelly Tramburg and senior Tierney Woodward (Poynette, Wis.) played in their final career games for the Warriors.

Alyssa Lemirande and Lexi Walter led a balanced Eagles attack with 15 points each. Bria Lemirande posted a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds.

The Eagles shot 53.7 percent (29-for-54) from the floor and out-scored the Warriors 44-28 in the paint. EC advances to Sunday's NACC Tournament final at top-seeded Benedictine.
