(WLCSports.com) – Sophomore Kaitlyn Shadoski (Janesville, Wis.) scored a team-high 13 points to pace three players in double figures, as the Wisconsin Lutheran College women's basketball team overcame a nine-point deficit in the second half en route to a 61-52 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference-opening win over rival Concordia Wisconson on Tuesday night inside the R. John Buuck Fieldhouse. The win was the Warriors' eighth in their last nine games against the Falcons.

- The Warriors scored the first five points of the game behind baskets from sophomore Sam Leisemann (Fall River, Wis.) and senior Kalies Birkholz (Watertown, Wis.) before the Falcons netted 11 straight points and made seven of their first eight shots to take an 18-10 lead with 3:55 left in the opening period. CUW carried a 19-12 lead over WLC into the second quarter of play behind a 53.6 percent shooting performance from the field.
- Concordia Wisconsin tied a first-half high nine-point lead with the first bucket of the second quarter. Wisconsin Lutheran answered with a 9-2 scoring run to close within two points at 23-21 under the five-minute mark. The Falcons finished the half by out-scoring the Green and White 8-3 for a 31-24 halftime lead. Shadoski tied for a first-half best with eight points, as the Warriors were held to 29.4 percent shooting compared to 46.4 percent for CUW.
- WLC found itself trailing by nine points with 5:55 left in the third quarter, but an 8-2 run capped off by a Leisemann three-point play brought the margin down to just three points nearly a minute-and-a-half later. Wisconsin Lutheran closed the quarter on a 10-1 run to take its first lead since the early minutes of the game. Senior Ally Gough (Horicon, Wis.) knocked down one of her four threes on the night as time expired to give the Green and White a 50-45 advantage heading into the fourth quarter. The Warriors scored a game-high 26 points in the third quarter to jump in front for good.
- WLC increased its lead to a game-high 10 points by scoring the first five points in the fourth period, capped off by another Gough triple. The Falcons came no closer than six points the rest of the way, as Wisconsin Lutheran made four free throws under the final minute to seal the win.
- Shadoski led three players in double figures with 13 points. Gough chipped in with 12 points off the bench, and Leisemann added 10 points and nine boards.
- Senior Jenna Mace (Wisconsin Dells, Wis.) grabbed six rebounds and senior Abby Vavra (Mukwonago, Wis.) dished out five assists.
- The Green and White shot 36.4 percent for the game, but out-scored CUW 18-4 in points off turnovers.
