What are your plans after graduation?
I plan on attending grad school to earn my master's in athletic training to become an athletic trainer.
What is one piece of advice you would give to your freshman self?
I would tell my freshman self to NOT procrastinate and study more than a few days before your tests… :)
Which WLC faculty or staff member has made the greatest impact on you and why
Professor Kuehl has helped me out so much and has always been there for me no matter how many questions I have... and I have a lot! She has always had confidence in me and has always believed in me, and that is the greatest feeling to have from a professor who knows how challenging this profession in which I am going into can be.
What one class would you retake just for fun and why?
Prevention and Care of Athletic Injury: I definitely would retake this class because at the time I was taking it, I still did not have my mind made up about what profession I wanted to go into. I know these are opposites, but I was torn between a graphic design major and a sport and exercise major, so you can imagine my passion for sports and exercise was not as strong as it is right now when I was taking that class. Therefore, if I were to take that class now, I would enjoy it a lot more and learn better than I did when I first took it. It relates a lot to athletic training and what athletic trainers do to test for injury. The class consisted of instruction on commonly occurring athletic injuries as a result of participation in athletics and physical education programs. It included understanding, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of athletic injuries and the role of the coach or teacher in the care, treatment, and prevention of common sports injuries.
What is the most unique thing about your hometown?
It is very small and is about 10 minutes away from the border of Wisconsin which is cool.
What is something that people may not know about you but should?
If they don't know already, I am very hard working. If I have a goal in mind, I try very hard to achieve it and give more than 100% to get there.
Other than the sport(s) you play, what is the other one you'd like to attempt?
Basketball. I played basketball in grade school and high school, and it definitely would be fun to play it at a college level. If it were easy and possible to do for my schedule, I would think about being a two-sport athlete, but just one sport in college is good enough for me.
What one professional athlete (past or present) would you like to have a conversation with and why?
Giannis Antetokounmpo: I have only ever seen him on TV. I have been to one game in-person, and that one game he didn't even play in because of an injury...I feel like if Giannis and I met, we would be cool, and he would want to be my friend. His brother, who played at Dominican High School, actually played in my conference so there's a connection right there! He used to come to his brother's games time to time and of course I was never there to see it.
List three things that appear on your post-WLC bucket list.
Go to grad school and graduate with a master's in athletic training, find a good-paying job that I both love and can financially support me, and hopefully get married before I'm old and gray.
What was your most memorable moment in competition during your Warriors career?
My most memorable moment in competition during my Warriors career is not exactly a specific play during a game, but just the teammates I have met over the years. Every year I have played volleyball has been amazing because of my teammates. Everyone is so nice, and everyone accepts everyone, and that is just truly amazing to me.
