(WLCSports.com) – Senior Amanda Brug (Sturtevant, Wis.) tied a career-high with 23 points to lead three players in double figures as the Wisconsin Lutheran College women's basketball team used a big first quarter to start its season 6-0 following a 70-50 road win over Lakeland on Saturday night inside Woltzen Gymnasium. Junior Jenna Mace (Wisconsin Dells, Wis.) added 22 points and freshman Sam Leisemann (Fall River, Wis.) posted a double-double in the win.

- The Warriors and Muskies were slow out of the gates as the two teams combined for seven missed shots and four turnovers through the first two and a half minutes of the game. Lakeland took its first and only lead of the game at 3-2 on a three-pointer, but WLC answered with a 10-0 run for a 12-3 lead.
- After a Muskies basket, Wisconsin Lutheran closed the first quarter by scoring 11 straight points for a 23-5 lead. Leisemann and Mace netted eight points in the opening frame for the Green and White.
- The Warriors opened the second quarter with a 7-2 spurt to take a 23-point lead. Lakeland responded with seven straight to cut its deficit to 16 points, but WLC went into halftime holding an 18-point lead at 39-21. Brug went a perfect 5-for-5 from the floor for 10 points in the quarter.
- The Muskies fought their way back into the game in the third quarter, closing within eight points following an 8-2 run. Wisconsin Lutheran went into the fourth quarter holding a 48-38 lead.
- Mace knocked down a three to open the fourth quarter and pushed the Warriors' lead back to double digits. WLC led 56-45 with 4:52 left before netting eight straight points capped by another Mace three-pointer.
- Wisconsin Lutheran brought its lead back to 20 on a Brug jump shot with under 20 seconds to play.
- Brug, who went 11-for-15 from the floor, matched her career-high with a 23-point, nine-rebound performance.
